Black Psychotherapist

Jummy M. Kirby, M.A,LPC - Owner & Virtual Psychotherapist

“Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.”

-Thich Nhat Hanh

My name is Jummy, I am a licensed professional counselor in Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey and a trained Perinatal Depression/Anxiety Disorders Specialist. I am dedicated to changing and shaping lives for people of color, especially women. It is also my goal to provide a safe space for women to feel confident and prepared in their roles.

After the birthing experience with my daughter in 2018, passion and anger fueled the creation of Relinquish and Transcend Counseling in 2019. It was created to provide a safe, caring, and confidential environment to the black community, especially for women.  My intention is to champion for women, teach them how to be their own ally and re-author their stories.

You already have all the answers inside of you, I am just here to help uncover them by teaching you the skills and practices for tapping back into your own creativity and intuition with validation and support. I will use multidisciplinary approaches to provide you with perspective on difficult issues. Together, we will co-create an individualized wellness practice to help you create more gratitude in your life. My holistic approach comes from a place of compassion and non-judgement. I teach my clients mindfulness skills to replace their ineffective coping skills.

Jeremy Turner, M.A - Virtual Psychotherapist

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

-Barack Obama

I am Jeremy Turner, a Masters Level Clinician with over 11 years of experience. My experience includes direct clinical services to adults, families, couples, children, and adolescents. I have provided psychotherapy and other therapeutic services to individuals who suffer from chronic mental illness, trauma, anxiety, depression, and a wide variety of other psychological disorders. I am dedicated to helping clients manage mental illness and emotional disturbances that disrupts ones thought process, daily functioning or hinders self-care. My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to express themselves freely and feel supported while on their journey. Working together with clients to identify triggers, distorted thinking and unresolved life conflicts are some of the things we will explore to help increase self-awareness and support a more positive, healthier lifestyle.

As a therapist, I am committed to working with you on developing a plan that is tailored to your individual needs and circumstances.

Your story is your own, and you have the power to overcome obstacles and remove barriers that are preventing you from being the best version of yourself.

Jeanine Uqdah, M.A - Virtual Psychotherapist

My name is Jeanine, I am a psychotherapist based in Philadelphia. I currently hold a Master’s degree in school counseling and have over 10 years of experience working with children and families. I am dedicated and passionate about helping others reach their full potential through a strength based approach. My approach to therapy is focusing on the positive attributes of a person or group, rather than the negative. Focusing on strengths doesn’t mean we ignore challenges, it just means giving yourself more credit even in tough situations. I believe it is important to encourage people to make the best choices for themselves, while never forgetting that they are the author of their own story.

Rhea Peddinti M.A in Progress - Virtual Psychotherapist Intern

My name is Rhea Peddinti, and I am a new psychotherapist intern based out of Philadelphia. I am currently working to obtain my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey, where I conducted extensive research in women’s reproductive health and its associated psychological effects. I decided to work in the mental health field in hopes of reducing the stigma around people of color, especially those with a first-generation or immigrant background, seeking therapy. I hope to provide a safe and positive environment that fosters client growth and feelings of security, self-discovery, and self-improvement. I plan to use a multidisciplinary or eclectic approach that enables me to tailor interventions to match the needs of different clients.

Jordan Williams, M.A in progress - Virtual Psychotherapist Intern

"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." – Lisa Olivera

My name is Jordan Williams; I am a Master’s-Level psychotherapy intern based in King of Prussia. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and am currently working to obtain my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Villanova University. My aspirations involve becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania, where I will work to destigmatize mental health among BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I strive to create a safe, genuine environment that aids individuals in discovering their strengths and improving self-actualization. You are an expert on yourself; my role is to listen to your feelings, experiences, and emotions. The goal of therapy is not to give you advice but to use my training to guide you to an authentic and self-sufficient lifestyle. I utilize a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to help tailor to your presenting concerns.
