“Inhaling deeply, I bring a sense of calm to both my body and mind. As I exhale slowly, a gentle smile emerges. Anchored in the present moment, I acknowledge its singularity.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Greetings! I’m Jummy—licensed professional counselor, certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, Mindfulness-Informed Professional, wife, and mom of three. I specialize in Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Disorders, and my heart beats for transformation—particularly within communities of color, with a strong focus on women navigating the complex intersections of womanhood, motherhood, and healing.
The seeds of Relinquish & Transcend Counseling + Consulting were planted in 2018 after the traumatic birth of my second child. Having already experienced the heartbreak of two pregnancy losses, I entered that birth longing for care, compassion, and support. Instead, I was met with dismissal and mistreatment. That experience became the catalyst for creating a space I never had—one where women are not only seen and heard, but deeply supported and championed.
Founded in 2019, Relinquish & Transcend is more than a practice—it’s a sanctuary. A space intentionally designed to center the emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of Black women and other historically excluded communities. My goal is simple yet profound: to walk alongside you as you reclaim your narrative and reconnect with the wisdom that’s already within you.
I draw from a range of healing approaches—including mindfulness, somatic awareness, and Ecotherapy—offering a holistic path that honors your lived experience and cultivates emotional resilience. Together, we co-create personalized wellness plans that replace shame with self-compassion, and burnout with balance.
In 2025, I expanded this mission through the founding of Beyond Transcendence—a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing financial and systemic barriers to care. Through therapy grants, healing-centered programs, and a model rooted in community reciprocity, Beyond Transcendence makes it possible for individuals to access transformative mental health care regardless of their circumstances.
Whether you’re preparing for parenthood, healing from trauma, navigating your own becoming, or simply seeking a space to exhale—you are welcome here.
This is your sacred space to heal, to be seen, and to rise. Your story isn’t over yet.

I am a Licensed Clinician with a specialty concentration in trauma-focused therapy. I utilize evidence-based practices to implement personalized treatment for my clients. Therapy is not one size fits all which is why I integrate several specialties including humanistic, CBT, and solution-focused techniques. Solution-focused therapy can help you address your concerns by creating a future that is goal-directed and solution oriented. My hope is to support you in navigating your current challenges and developing a future that you desire. In my experience, I have worked with children, adjudicated adolescents, and young adults to navigate difficult transitions and address presenting issues. I also have experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), as well as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. I enjoy helping clients become more self-aware and develop new healthy ways to creatively cope. I believe that everyone's process is different, so I offer support to my clients that is tailored to their needs. Together we can find ways to become the healthier you that you desire.

My name is Jeanine, I am a psychotherapist based in Philadelphia. I currently hold a Master’s degree in school counseling and have over 10 years of experience working with children and families. I am dedicated and passionate about helping others reach their full potential through a strength based approach. My approach to therapy is focusing on the positive attributes of a person or group, rather than the negative. Focusing on strengths doesn’t mean we ignore challenges, it just means giving yourself more credit even in tough situations. I believe it is important to encourage people to make the best choices for themselves, while never forgetting that they are the author of their own story.

I am Alexis, a Master’s level clinician with about 7 years of experience in the counseling field. I am driven to bridge the gap between mental health services and delivery to clients which can sometimes feel daunting. My approach is aimed at promoting strengths, success and empowerment in clients to achieve healing and relief to concerns. I’ve worked with various populations and in various settings including group, couples and individualized therapy. I've also worked successfully with various ages including children, teens and adults. Given my experience and flexibility to learning unique approaches to therapy, I’ve strengthened my expertise in addressing many mental health concerns which include depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders and mood disorders. My aim is to provide individualized and goal-centered treatment which promotes success to all my clients. I am hopeful and committed to being the most supportive backseat driver for you, as clients are the true navigators and drivers of their treatment.

Hi, my name is Dominique. As a psychotherapist, my focus is on providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults. I strive to empower individuals to cultivate self-compassion and resilience as they navigate their therapeutic path. Rather than offering all the answers, my goal is to equip clients with adaptive coping strategies to effectively manage life’s challenges.
Recognizing the unique needs of each individual, I tailor my approach accordingly. I draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy to create a personalized treatment plan.
My clinical expertise spans various areas across the Reproductive Life Span, including Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, and Grief & Loss. I also specialize in helping individuals navigate eating disorders, body image concerns, and self-esteem issues. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals grappling with mood disorders and borderline personality disorder.
I am certified in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders and Perinatal Loss & Grief through the Seleni Institute. If this approach resonates with you, I am committed to supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Hi! My name is Ariyana. I am a master’s level therapist with a degree in counseling. Through our work together, my hope is to support you in achieving your personal goals using a warm, holistic, and strength-based approach. I believe therapy should be a safe and genuine space where you feel comfortable showing up as your most authentic self.
I wholeheartedly believe that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to affirm your agency and autonomy by highlighting your strengths, offering new perspectives, and empowering you as you navigate life’s challenges. I strive to foster a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel seen, understood, and supported.
In my practice, I draw from person-centered and humanistic principles, along with evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs. My work is grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to ongoing learning. I have experience working with clients across different ages and backgrounds who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.
I look forward to helping you explore tools, coping strategies, and creative outlets that can support you in making sense of your experiences, deepening your self-awareness, and cultivating self-compassion, resilience, and healing.

Hi, my name is Destiny. I’m a bilingual (English and Spanish), compassionate, and culturally attuned therapist dedicated to supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities as we navigate the intersections of identity, culture, and mental health. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you can show up as your full self—without having to explain or minimize your experiences.
I understand how systemic oppression, generational trauma, and cultural stigma can shape emotional wellness, and I work collaboratively with you to unlearn limiting narratives, build resilience, and foster healing that feels both empowering and liberating.
In my work with individuals, I help clients manage anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, particularly those who are first-generation college students or professionals balancing cultural expectations and the pressure to succeed. In our sessions, I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and a touch of humor—because sometimes laughter can be just as healing as tears. Together, we’ll explore ways to cultivate balance, self-compassion, and confidence as you move through life’s many seasons.
I’m also passionate about helping couples build stronger, more intentional connections. I guide partners toward healthier communication, deeper emotional understanding, and openness around intimacy, sex, and desire. I believe that honest conversations about needs and boundaries create relationships grounded in trust, authenticity, and mutual respect.
Have you ever felt like you’ve had to hide parts of yourself to keep the peace or fit into expectations? I believe healing begins when you no longer have to shrink who you are to feel accepted. My approach blends cultural sensitivity, trauma-informed care, and empowerment to help you build a life and relationships that feel aligned, connected, and fulfilling—because you deserve to be fully seen, supported, and free to thrive.

Hi, I’m Akira Kirkpatrick, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor dedicated to creating a space where healing, growth, and authenticity can flourish. I hold a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Robert Morris University, and I’m currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan—helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion and curiosity. My experience spans outpatient settings and community-based work, including supporting returning citizens as they reestablish life after incarceration. These experiences have deeply shaped my belief that everyone deserves access to care that honors both their humanity and their story.
In my therapeutic approach, I draw from Adlerian and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy frameworks, integrating a humanistic, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens to ensure that each session feels collaborative, empowering, and rooted in respect. I believe therapy is most transformative when it’s a partnership—when we work together to uncover patterns, strengthen resilience, and build tools that foster emotional balance and self-understanding.
At the heart of my work is a simple philosophy: healing begins with grace. I hold space for clients to show up as they are—imperfect, evolving, and worthy of care—and to explore both the struggles and strengths that make them whole.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment challenges, or simply the complexities of being human, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, transparency, and hope.
